Harare, Zimbabwe –
The small land-locked nation of Zimbabwe is reportedly “kind of weirded out” over the new LGBTQIA2-S Flag. “It kind of does look like they ripped off our flag and changed it a little bit” said LuckJoy Nwaba.
“Don’t get us wrong” said the small southern-African nation “we know a lot of gay people. We’re friends with a lot of gay people.”
Zimbabwe – Formerly known as Southern Rhodesia has been dealing with extreme hyper inflation, and racial tensions regarding the return of formerly white owned farmland to the native population. Now, on top of the serious economic crisis and cultural problems, and even Cholera, their flag “kind of looks gay.”
In a late May teleconference during an African Union meeting, Prudence Mwanganga: the Zimbabwean Minister of culture said: “We were fine with that pink and blue new trans flag that came out, and the rainbow flag that was for the gays for a long time before that. We have to be honest though, it looks like they just took our flag, and tweaked it a bit for this new gay flag or whatever flag that is the new one now.”
“They took the Zimbabwe bird, replaced it with a circle. Kind of shifted the other colors up a bit and changed them, but just moved them around. You have to understand, our next door neighbor is Mozambique. They have a literal AK-47 on their flag, I mean, that’s an assault rifle, that’s pretty hardcore. Now people are getting ours confused with something you might see hanging out of a gin bar in East Hollywood.” said Mwanganga.
“We were on a teleconference between Zambia, The Gambia, Namibia and Botswana, and our feed kept cutting out “strangely” said Luckjoy. “When it would return the Gambia had a woman’s bra on their head and all the other countries were laughing at us.” added LuckJoy.
“We are totally cool with gay people, or those who choose to be gay, or what have you. Men walk down the street here in Zimbabwe holding hands. No problem here, it’s a cultural thing. That’s how cool about this whole thing we are, really we aren’t against the gays.” Said Luckjoy. “That flag just looks really, really close to ours at the end of the day, and while we are cool with the gays, it just, well..”
After being informed the flag not only is used by gay people, but actually also is used for people who had their dicks and breasts surgically removed, the entire nation of Zimbabwe is in shock and has yet to comment.
